KMS parents, alumni, and friends are all invited to help with the Volunteer Work Day this Saturday, 8/21, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the school. The Work Day is critical for preparing our building and grounds for the new school year, and it's always a lot of fun and a great way to get to know other parents and children at the school.
Projects for the morning include painting the Primary I classroom, spreading mulch under the play structures on the playground, trimming bushes, and washing windows.
You can come for part or all of the morning, whichever is best for you. Children are more than welcome to help as well. Please bring shovels, wheelbarrows, hedge clippers, and other gardening tools if you have them. We will provide paint, brushes and rollers for people helping with the painting in Primary I.
One thing in particular that we need is more sand for the sandbox, so if anyone can donate that, we would really appreciate it.
There will be bagels, water, and coffee in the morning. Feel free to bring lunch so we can all eat together on the playground when we're finished.
Please sign up in the school office if you will be able to join us this Saturday. It's a wonderful way to spend a morning with other KMS families and help the school at the same time.
