4/10/11 - Thanks to the families who attended our Open House, to Ms. Gillian for organizing the event, and to our Primary teachers for doing such a great job introducing KMS and Montessori. If you missed the Open House and would like to visit the school, just give us a call and we'd be happy to arrange a tour. ------------------------------
Saturday, April 9, 2011 The Knoxville Montessori School will hold an open house on Saturday, April 9th, from 10:00 - 12:00 noon, for families interested in learning about our Montessori Primary classes for pre-school and kindergarten-age children. Our Primary teachers will be available to explain the Montessori approach to early-childhood education, demonstrate some of the Montessori materials, and answer any questions parents might have. Founded in 1966, KMS offers:
Our two multi-age Primary classes have space for a total of 40 pre-school and kindergarten-age children: 22 in one class and 18 in the other. Each class has two full-time Montessori-certified teachers; the class with 22 students has a full-time assistant as well. KMS also has an Elementary class with 20-25 students from first through fifth grade. Students from KMS have gone on to excel at a wide variety of public and private elementary, middle, and high schools, including Sequoyah Elementary, West Valley Middle School, Greenway Middle School, West High School, Bearden High School, the Episcopal School of Knoxville, and the Webb School. Enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year is currently underway. To enroll in our Primary program, children must be toilet-trained and at least 3 years old by September 30, 2011. To enroll for the kindergarten year, children must be 5 by September 30, 2011. Location: 4311 Kingston Pike, Knoxville TN. For more information about the Open House, contact KMS at 525-6042 or kms (at) knoxvillemontessori.org.
